Description

Kinloch is located in a truly idyllic position, a superbly picturesque setting for anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat, or a family getaway to explore the Scottish Highlands.

Set in the stunning location of Balnain, on the side of Loch Meikle, approximately 2½ miles from Drumnadrochit and the world-famous Loch Ness.

Kinloch offers 4 bedrooms, accommodating 6 adults and 2 children. There are 2 double bedrooms, a twin room and bunk room. A communal family bathroom along the hall and into the open plan kitchen & living area providing a functional area for guests to eat, chat and relax with stunning views over the garden and the loch. There is also an additional shower room. In the colder months enjoy the warming glow of the log burning stove, a wee dram is optional!

Offering direct access onto the Loch, you can enjoy fishing for Brown Trout and Pike or take a leisurely paddle in your kayak or canoe around the endless waters of Meikle. (Rods and reels plus kayaks and canoes are not provided)

The surrounding countryside offers ample activities for those looking to get out and explore. Perfect for walkers and cyclists with endless miles of forest roads and trails, or for those looking to pursue the plethora of outdoor activities from horse riding to shooting and much more, or just enjoying some relaxing downtime on offer within nearby Drumnadrochit.

Outside you will find a raised deck with dining area and BBQ, perfect for sipping something cold (or warm!) whilst listening to the wildlife. After a hard day exploring, or just because you can, don’t forget to check out the outdoor hot tub, sinking into the bubbles and soaking away with the onward views across Meikle and beyond.

Location

This stunning location is at the side of Loch Meikle, just over 2 miles from Drumnadrochit at the head of Urquhart Bay, on the northern shore of Loch Ness.

The village of Drumnadrochit is popular with Loch Ness monster hunters and provides a great location for exploring the Highlands. The village is surrounded by the glens, Glen Urquhart and Glen Moriston, as well as the Great Glen that reaches across from Inverness in the east to Fort William in the west. The area is rich in things to see and do with activities ranging from exploring Urquhart Castle, a classic romantic ruin jutting out into the loch, horse riding, cycling, cruising the length of Loch Ness and fishing trips.

The largest and best known loch in the Great Glen, Loch Ness is one of the most popular UK holiday destinations and attracts many visitors every year hoping to catch a glimpse of Nessie, the world-famous Loch Ness monster!

Visit the Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition to find out about Loch Ness and the monster that (perhaps) lurks somewhere in its depths! The replica of Nessie may be the closest you get to the real thing, but visitors can also explore the spooky history of the facts and myths of monster hunting at the centre.

Inverness Castle is 14.9 miles from the property, while Caledonian Canal is 14.9 miles away. The nearest airport is Inverness Airport, 24.2 miles from Kinloch Inverness.

Fantastic weekend at Kinloch Highland Lodge - couldn’t of asked for anything better! Robin & Charlie answered all queries quickly and made the whole process very easy. The accommodation was excellent, very clean, everything we needed along with lots of added extras. (Robes for hot tub were ideal) Perfect place for family with dogs. We loved the garden, hot tub, and direct access to the loch for wild water swimming, kayaking, and the dogs loved it too! Thank you, will definitely be booking again.

Fantastic venue for a large family vacation with loads of space inside and out. An ideal location near Drumnadrochit for exploring the Highlands. Amazing outside facilities including a hot tub, fire pit & enclosed kids sand pit area - topped off with massive garden and loch access for water activities. Inside space was just as special with everything needed and more. Everyone had a great time.

We spent an amazing week at Kinloch Lodge and had the most fantastic holiday. The lodge is beautiful and exactly as described…even better than expected. The accommodation has every mod con you could hope for and the location is just idyllic, brilliant access to so many stunning locations across the Highlands. The access to Loch Meikle is perfect and allowed for a week of fun…swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. Warming up in the hot tub afterwards, or by the fire pit made our stay extra special…as did the bathrobes and slippers! The welcome pack was also very much appreciated.

Fantastic location, with views to die for. There was a lovely welcome basket when we arrived with some Scottish goodies and a bottle of Prosecco which was a lovely touch. The house was lovely and clean, and had everything we needed supplied. The hot tub just tops this house off, sitting outside in the evening with a glass of Prosecco was relaxing and bliss. Will definitely return in the future

This is a lovely house in a stunning location right on the Loch side. The access to the water was great. We were there in winter but it would be even better on a warm summer's day. The views from the hot tub and the outdoor area in general were superb. The set up with the polytunnel and being so far from the main road makes it an ideal location for young families. The house is not huge but there was plenty of space for us all, and it is a nice layout with the kitchen - dining - living area all being together, a cosy wood burning stove in the middle of the house, the bedrooms off a separate hall to one side of the house and a further conservatory. The area is a quiet, rural area which is what we were looking for in our break, and we made the most of it by walking in the immediate area and cycling round the Loch. Charlie & Robin were good hosts as well.

Beautiful location in an idyllic setting very close to Loch Ness. We love our stay here and would like to come back in summer so we can make the most of the outdoor setting ; it’s right on the banks of a small loch. House was cosy and had everything we needed.

Amazing Stay! We had an amazing time at Kinloch Lodge. If you can imagine yourself relaxing by a Scottish loch, with plenty of space to relax and roam, outdoor facilities a-plenty, then you’d be on the right track to imagining yourself at Kinloch. Hot tub, access to a loch for wild swimming, great kitchen and decent beds. Location-wise completely ideal. A stones throw from Loch Ness and Drumnadrochit, but off the beaten track. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing escape, and we will be back as soon as we can.

What a perfect location! Great to get around Loch Ness and just a short drive to restaurants and pubs. The house is perfect for families. Right on the loch so for having a dip and kayaking it’s brilliant. WiFi was good access from all places. Dog friendly and we loved the hot tub for those cooler nights. Fire pit and seating area by the loch gets the sun in the evening and lovely place to watch the sun set. Highly recommend this for a family or group holiday
